I have been in the Early Childhood Field for 13 years, 12 of those years I have been a lead teacher and have recently transitioned into learning the administration side of the field. I am excited to be completing my BA in Early Childhood Development this year, it's something that I placed on hold for several years and am proud to be finishing. I was born  and raised in Farmington, NM and have called Santa Fe home for the last 5 years. In my free time I love to read, hike, bake and do Crossfit.

I bring a passion for learning to Little Forest. I will always do what is best for the students. I thoroughly love watching children discover the world. I believe kids are capable and able to accomplish a lot. I believe the work we do is the most important in the world. Children are our future, it is our job to foster that.

I am Barbara Cruz and this is my twenty- third year teaching at Little Forest Playschool with the toddlers. I feel blessed to be a part of Little Forest Playschool for so many years and to have the opportunity to work in a nurturing, loving environment where children can learn and experience new challenges that will help build their physical, cognitive, and Social- Emotional development while they explore through play.

My credentials include The Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA), Early Childhood Development Certificate (ECD) and the New Mexico Child Development Certificate (CDC) and currently continuing my early childhood education at the Santa Fe Community College (SFCC) and currently working towards a New Mexico Infant Family Studies Certificate (IFS)

I'm from Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo. I enjoy spending time with my family and my dog Bella bug, listening & dancing to country music, love reading, enjoy going to the movies and trying new foods. (Favorites dark chocolate & coffee)

I love teaching in the toddler class because every day is new adventure. I like the community feeling that exists here at LFPS and the way the parents and teachers work together, allowing us to witness their growth within each child during the school year. I look forward to continued success and new discoveries with an amazing team of teachers at Little Forest Playschool.

Truly, excited to learn and explore with your child this year!

Ursula Curran

HELLO!!! I am Ursula Curran, from San Juan/Santa Clara Pueblos, New Mexico born and raised, currently I have been working at Little Forest Playschool for 7 years! What initially drew me to Little Forest was the children and the families that attend Little Forest, and it's everlasting stability in Los Alamos! Also I love how family oriented Little Forest and the relationship it strives to maintain with the families! I am a single mother of three, Two of my children Jacob and Chevelle are current students at Little Forest! My oldest son is currently a Junior in high school, at Cleveland High in Rio Rancho!

I enjoy teaching self-help skills and independence to the students in my classroom. I love using singing and musical tactics to further self-regulation skills.

Drew Wyman

Room 2's Assistant

My full first name is Andrew, though I haven’t gone by that name since kindergarten. Mostly, my hobbies are gaming and writing. I have lived in Los Alamos ever since I was five years old, and have been a member of the LFP staff for nine years now. Being a part of this steam has been an amazing experience for me and I look forward to what future years have in store. One of the things I enjoy most about LFP is the ability to be a part of each child/family’s growth. To see the little ones grow and learn, and to know that I helped even in the smallest way possible, is one of the reasons I do what I do. In my opinion, there is no higher honor or privilege, than to be a mentor for a younger generation.
